What is TTAB Career Conversation (TCC) all about?

An initiative by Tech Talent Assembly (TTAB), TTAB Career Conversation (TCC) provides a conversation platform between TTAB members and ICT industry leaders on technological trends, innovation, project possibilities and career advice for the 7 ICT career paths.

Led by experienced advisors from TTAB as well as ICT industry leaders, TCC will be conducted in a small group setting to allow for more focused and interactive conversations.

We hope that TTAB members keen on entering or advancing in any of the ICT career paths will be able to take away valuable industry insights, networks and tips from our TCC advisors.

Ng Tiong Gee is the founding president of TTAB and current chairman of Yellow Pages. A veteran in the technological space, he led digitalisation and transformation efforts in companies like Resort World Sentosa, UTAC and Infineon.

Tiong Gee serves as independent board director of SGX-listed companies such as Pacific Radiance and Y Ventures. He also currently lectures as a fellow at NUS Advanced Computing for Executives (ACE).

Teo Chin Seng is an experienced senior technology executive with over 33 years of experience working in Asia Pacific, China, Middle East and the US.

Last serving as Senior VP of Global IT in DP World, he led the digitalisation of the company through the implementation of a digital platform in 40 countries. He has been in senior management roles for the last 22 years, leading and transforming organisations through technology.

Kuo Siong Lim is a Senior Advisor at Singapore Consultancy, partner of an angel investment company, and a fellow at NUS Advanced Computing for Executives (ACE). Kuo Siong previously served in regional and C-suite leadership positions in the areas of technology, digitalisation, business operations and transformation for institutions like Standard Chartered and UBS. Kuo Siong has also been recognised as a Leading Practitioner (Tech & Innovation) by The Asian Banker.

Shumit Gupta is an IT professional with 20 years of experience. Shumit spent 2 decades as a management consultant with Accenture and is currently an Enterprise Architect with NCS. He has worked with clients in multiple geographies and on some of the largest technology transformations in ASEAN/APAC.

More recently, Shumit aspires to play a role in a more focused space within the Singapore context. Shumit graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from NUS.

Jenson Goh has 23 years of working experience in the IT and education industry. Recently pivoting to the food manufacturing industry, Jenson is currently the Chief Information & Learning Officer at Monde Nissin Singapore.

Jenson was also a Business Excellence Assessor, assessing more than 20 organisations from diverse industries.
Jenson loves reading and enjoys helping people and organisations to learn through play as a hobby, such as through LEGO SERIOUS PLAY and Six Bricks.

Li-Li Goh currently heads Enterprise Sales in Singtel. A telco veteran, Li-Li has 18 years of telco experience coupled with ICT experience. Through her work, she has increased corporate visibility for companies by establishing positive and effective relationships with leaders from various business sectors and regulatory authorities.

Li-Li is an executive committee member of Singapore Computer Society (SCS), vice-chairman of the membership committee and vice-chairman of the Digital Resources Committee for SCS.

Hiew Wui Sin is currently the founder of iChange Solutions, helping companies in their digital transformation journey. He has over 30 years of experience spanning across areas like transformation and global IT management, and 15 years of senior leadership experience in global organisations.

Wui Sin spent his recent years in the public sector leading the development of two Industry Digital Plans (IDP) programmes for IMDA.

Christina Gan, PPA(P), PBS is an experienced senior technology executive with over 30 years of experience in the public sector.

She has been in senior management roles, leading and helming ICT teams, initiativesand projects across various government agencies, as Senior CIO and as Senior Director of Cybersecurity. In the last decade, she has devoted her energy in advising andworking on digital transformation of socialservices and even volunteers in social service agencies advising in their digitaltransformation journey, adaptive use of technology and best practices.

Currently a TTAB executive committee member, Brandon Phuan is also CIO at ASM, a pioneer in technologies used in wafer processing by semiconductor manufacturers.

Brandon joined ASM from Rolls-Royce, where he was Global IT Director of the Marine business. He also previously held leadership positions at companies like Honeywell and Mercury Interactive (acquired by HP). He is currently serving on the executive committee of SAP Singapore User Group.

As Managing Director of AKIN, Arvin Tang champions brand storytelling, inbound marketing strategies, and technological innovation for stakeholders. Through AKIN, he has delivered digital transformation interventions for government bodies, regional medium enterprises, and global software companies.

Arvin is also a board member of 4 tech startups, a certified associate of Emergenetics®, an executive committee member of SAFRA Punggol and Singapore Computing Society New Media Council and volunteers at Quartz Initiative (QZI).

Bernard Chong has over 20 years of experience in telecommunications, IT services and software. Bernard has worked for NTT, HPE, Nokia Siemens and Fujitsu in global and regional roles implementing sales strategy, business development and partner alliances.

In the last decade, he has built a world-class partner ecosystem with 50+ global and regional partners to develop successful business models in cloud, software and services. Bernard is currently the Director of Channels and Alliances APJ of Apptio.

James Ang is currently the Chief Partner Officer of Dropbox Asia. A technopreneur at heart, James has more than 20 years of sales and leadership experience with leading technology companies.

During his career at Microsoft, he held various leadership roles in Asia Pacific and was part of its High Potential Senior Leader Bench Program, a program reserved for top leaders. James believes in the unlimited potential of people in Asia, and is passionate about driving economic empowerment by providing better access to education and technology.

Randy Goh has more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry driving data analytics, business intelligence and data management businesses across Singapore and Asia Pacific. He is currently the Vice President for Opentext Southeast Asia. Managing the company’s sales, he’s responsible for growing the business across various industries.

Before joining Opentext, Randy was the Managing Director for SAS Singapore where he led the sales organisation and grew the company’s footprint significantly. Randy was also previously the Regional Director and General Manager of Sales at IBM.

Nurhazman Abdul Aziz helped institutions such as Republic Polytechnic build an entrepreneurial ecosystem, and startup founders to understand market access, product management, partnership and account development in South East Asia and the Middle East. His learning interests are in agri-technology, supply chain, fintech and cybersecurity.

He enjoys spending time with his family, bringing the kids out to fly kites, scooting, and learning to cycle.

An evangelist for data and analytics literacy, Catherine is an active member of TTAB. She is also the founder of DNA Capitals, which helps organisations gain a competitive advantage by leveraging opportunities in digitalisation and big data.

Catherine was formerly the Practice Chief of Analytics & Intelligent System at NUS Institute of Systems Science (NUS-ISS), where she continues to serve as adjunct lecturer and coach.

Maxim Tint is founder and CEO of GTRIIP, a digital identity platform for contactless access at commercial properties. Maxim began his career building business intelligence and data warehouse systems as a founding member of a software start-up acquired by NTT Data.

An Information Systems graduate from Singapore Polytechnic, he went on to study Business Administration at Coventry University and later at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Tan Poh Choo is currently an executive committee member and General Treasurer of TTAB. A seasoned business builder, operational excellence leader and talent developer, she has almost 30 years of experience in business advisory and data analytics.

Poh Choo works closely with MNCs, SMEs, and government agencies to help them innovate by leveraging data analytics. Poh Choo also continues to mentor individuals to help them chart out career paths.

Philip Kwa has over 20 years of global working experience in various corporate and entrepreneurial environments where he held roles such as CEO, CFO and Strategic Consulting Director.

Philip holds an MBA, Diploma in Directorship, Post Graduate Diploma in Knowledge Engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce. He focuses on cyber security training and exercises, business process transformation, factory automation and entrepreneurship.

Garion is an information technology and security professional with over 20 years’ experience leading the IT governance, management and information security for SMEs and regional offices of MNCs in Asia. He is currently the Manager, Technical Services (APAC) for a software analytics company leading the Technical Services for the Asia Pacific region as well as oversees the internal IT governance, IT operations and information security vulnerability management for the regional offices in Asia. Prior to his current role, Garion was the head of IT for a catastrophe risk modelling and research company.

Garion has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Information Technology. He holds several IT security certifications. Garion is a certified quality professional with CQI,  ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Lead Auditor and a certified Chief Information Security Officer (C|CISO).

Tan Seng Siong is a VP at Bank of America as a Senior Technology Risk and Governance Personnel within AP Global Wholesale Banking Technology. Seng Siong works with a team of IT risk professionals to provide cybersecurity risk advisory and assessment to ensure technology complies with stringent financial regulations.

With 20 years of diverse experience in IT by managing diverse IT infrastructure, risk management and cybersecurity requirements of financial IT regulations in APAC, Seng Siong is able to provide in-depth knowledge on cybersecurity, risk and governance.

With 30 years of experience in the IT industry, Ng Pheng Siong is an experienced leader in IT engineering, operations, risk management, cyber security and audit.

In recent years, Pheng Siong held leadership roles in technology risk and cyber security at Citibank, Standard Chartered and JP Morgan. Prior to that, his career spanned building, deploying, managing and auditing large scale information technology systems at financial institutions, startups and educational institutions.

Pheng Siong is currently a Principal Consultant with Singapore Consultancy. He is also Executive Director at ObjectMemetic, an all-remote cloud technology firm.

Johnny Kho has over 20 years of experience in Information Technology and Cyber Security, with broad experience in Security Solutions, Operations and Consulting.

He is currently an Associate Director in Trustwave, the Cybersecurity Subsidiary under Singtel leading the Solutions Team on Emerging Technologies.

Johnny previously led the Cyber Security Product Team for Asia in Trustwave, and also held Product Management Roles in Managed Services as well as Managed Security Services for Singtel.

He also took on Product Management and Solution Consultant roles with NetIQ (Attachmate), Frontline Solutions and Internet Security Solutions (IBM).

Tony Low recently joined the Asean Apigee team as the Digital Engagement Lead. Prior to joining Google, he was the Delivery Lead for DBS Public Cloud adoption, focusing on the design and setup of Data Security on AWS, and driving the development of the Cloud deployment platform.

Tony has also worked for leading multinational companies such as Citibank, Barclays, IBM and CA in various job roles such as Product Manager, Delivery Manager and Technical Sales Advisory.

Cecil Su leads the Cyber Security & DFIR unit for BDO Advisory, where he leads various engagement teams on diversified advisory, security testing and incident response projects across vertical industries. His current area of focus is IT Security research and security testing.

Prior to this, Cecil was the Practice Lead for Trustwave SpiderLabs SEA — the advanced security services and research team specialising in penetration testing, incident response/forensics, education services and security research.

Nick Lim has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry and over 15 years in a sales management role. Nick’s past 20 years have been focused on the enterprise software technology sector.

Currently the General Manager of APJ for TIBCO, Nick most recently served as Managing Director of SEA and Korea for Micro Focus. Prior to that, he was with CA Technologies and BMC Software where he held various key leadership positions including Vice President for ASEAN and Greater China, Director for Alliances & Specialization team for Asia Pacific and Managing Director for South East Asia.

Roger has over 20 years of experience in the Retail/Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, managing over 13 countries in Asia Pacific to provide technology and business transformation.

Beginning his management career with Golden Village, Roger is currently the APAC IT Director and Business Transformation Lead in Shiseido Asia Pacific. He leads the region’s technology landscape across the company’s portfolio, which includes retail, sales & marketing and digital business.

Outside of work, Roger loves to write, and aspires to write a sci-fi/fantasy novel for young readers one day.

Jacob Tong is currently the Group Chief Information Officer at ST Engineering Group, a multi-business technology conglomerate with global footprints and customers in more than 100 countries at the forefront of its chosen industries — spanning aerospace, Smart city, defence and public security.

With over 21 years of varied IT management experience, Jacob was previously Group CIO with Keppel Corporation. Jacob served in the Executive Council of the Singapore IT Management Association and in various education institution and technology provider advisory boards. Jacob holds an MBA from Manchester Business School.
